A Labor Day Dedication

The coming week will culminate on Sunday with the tenth anniversary of the tragic events that unfolded on the morning of 9/11, 2001.  There are literally thousands of men and women working at the site of the new world trade center buildings, the memorial structures, and the transit hub.

Through their tireless efforts, a site that was ugly with the rubble, and the pain of loss is starting to come to life again.  Great care is being taken by everyone working this site to make sure that commerce returns, a neighborhood pushed to near extinction comes back to life, and that homage is paid to the fallen.

So with all that said, my labor day wishes go out specifically to those men and women today.  Their hard work is doing a lot to heal the wounds that have been felt by many in the city of New York, as well of those in the entire country.  Most will never be known by name.  However, the results of your efforts will be remembered forever.

In my mind that is what Labor Day is all about…

Words That Fill My Heart

For my wife,

I thought I would offer a “wordy” way to wish my wife all my love on this holiday of professing such feelings.  This is our eleventh Valentine’s Day, and I am thrilled to have such a wonderful woman in my life, and will always be willing to share that fact with the world.
